Experience, leadership and effective teamwork to make IEEE the place of choice for networking with worldwide experts, building successful career and engineering society’s future.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I have been selected by the IEEE Board of Directors, to be a candidate, in the upcoming election, for the position of 2011 IEEE President.

Throughout my twenty plus years IEEE volunteer career, I have always given priority to enhancing the quality of services provided to members as well as to keeping the costs of these services under control. I have always been a strong opponent of unnecessary fees and dues increases. I am presently extremely concerned with the steady rise in IEEE′s infrastructure expenses which make it difficult to offer new benefits to members/volunteers and also threaten the financial viability of some IEEE units.

In this web site you will find extended versions of my Position Statement, my biographical sketch and my activities as an IEEE volunteer.

I welcome any questions you may have concerning my positions, comments and criticisms to the current IEEE operations and suggestions of issues you feel should be addressed in IEEE several bodies and, in particular, at the IEEE Board of Directors.
I will be honored to receive your support in this election, just as I received from a large number of you a couple years ago when I was elected IEEE Vice President, Technical Activities. You can rest assured that if elected IEEE President I will focus my attention on increasing the value of IEEE membership, on increasing the attractiveness of IEEE products and services to industries and their employees, on providing the deserved recognition and a motivating environment for volunteers and on protecting the IEEE quality and brand.
