One of the recognized leaders of the Society’s globalization.       In the mid-nineties. ComSoc led the way within IEEE in terms       of having a significant number of its Board members,       Conference chairs and members of editorial Boards from       outside the US.

    Developed with two other colleagues a new, and later proven       successful, structure for the ComSoc flagship conferences.

    As Chair of Wireless Communications and Networking       Conference (WCNC) Steering Committee I led the       development of this conference to become the premier       ComSoc event on Wireless Communications.

    Served as General Chair of Infocom’09, WCNC’04 and       GLOBECOM’99.

    In recognition of my efforts and accomplishments in the       Conferences area I was awarded the 2008 IEEE ComSoc       Harold Sobol Meritorious Service Award.
