Volunteer Engagement and Satisfaction

Volunteers are IEEE′s most precious asset and it is often taken for granted by corporate IEEE that volunteer resources will always be available. Volunteers must be nurtured and cultivated. Putting undue burden on them to generate large surpluses from their activities in order to support increasing central costs is the wrong approach. I will make sure that Board decisions and corporate policies will always strike a balance between volunteer expectations and IEEE business requirements. I will work with the ED to guarantee that bureaucratic procedures do not impact on volunteer dedication. Volunteers must have fun while doing their invaluable contributions to IEEE.
