Times of fast technological changes and economic uncertainty offer
IEEE several challenges and opportunities. Continued progress towards
IEEE’s vision of engineering the future for the well-being
of its members, the profession and humanity requires three related
efforts: Volunteer engagement and satisfaction; offering cost-effective
services that are essential to members’ career growth; and
transnational participation and collaboration. If elected IEEE President
I will rely on my diversified professional and volunteer career
to:
i) Develop an environment in which volunteers
find enjoyment in their work and can balance their expectations
with IEEE business requirements;
ii) Work with industry leaders to identify and
launch new IEEE services that benefit practicing engineers and managers.
Support initiatives by Societies⁄Councils to develop economical
continuing education products and services;
iii) Promote business models within IEEE that enhance
the membership and financial success of both IEEE and its component
societies and regions;
iv) Build on my past successes in globalization
of IEEE to foster greater worldwide participation of members and
volunteers; provide better services to all; and realize appropriate
transnational representation in IEEE’s leadership positions
and decision-making bodies;
